Yellow

Yellow always brightens up any day...  I have made so many yellow garments and accessories since I started my brand, I really love this colour!  The fabric I used here is a cotton voile, the same one used for the 'Yellow Blocking' tops.  It is a very lightweight fabric which makes the little multi-strap dress ideal for a day on the beach and the oversized frill top great paired with some skinny jeans and high heels.  This fabric is perfect for the hot, humid weather we have here in Mauritius  xxx

Happy Friday + Its coffee time

I hope you all had a wonderful week and will go on to have a lovely weekend!  I found some really great coffee recipes that might help me get through my fun-filled day of designing, sewing and business planning.  You should give the recipes a try this weekend!

Enjoy! I leave you with a picture of my classic cappuccino with a caramel syrup topping in my favorite mug xxx

New fabrics - The rose garden

I found these new fabrics the other day while out on my weekly fabric sourcing trip.  They are very fine cotton voiles in two different rose prints; one in red and pink tones and the other mostly in purple, pink and hints of yellow tones.  I was very surprised to find such pretty/feminine fabrics because here in Mauritius it is very difficult to find nice prints.  As they are so lightweight, I will be making blouses with little pearl embellishments on the shoulders, sleeves or neckline and little short dresses...perfect for a garden party! Here are also some very pretty 'rose' inspiration pictures.
Hope you like them xxx

Pastel lips

I have been seeing all these pretty pictures of pastel coloured lips lately and I am hesitating to try it out, is this one of these trends that only looks good on perfectly styled and made-up models, or would it look cute on regular people too?
Happy Friday and have a great weekend! xxx

Ps - Would you wear pastel coloured lipstick?

Pastel purple

Although I adore bright/ bold colours, I also have a major soft spot for pastels!  I love soft cotton candy colored fabrics that remind me of sorbets, macarons and sweets in summer.  This soft purple has almost a greyish tint to it, the fabric is a poly/ lycra blend which drapes really nicely and has a very clean, dry aspect to it and also has a very slight creased effect which is only visible up close.  I made a little crossover strap dress and a cropped frill top, both work well for a day look paired with flats as well as accessorised with heels and some bold jewelry for an updated evening look. xxx

Sparkly stuff

After a wifi-less week thanks to the multiple power-cuts that occurred in the last few weeks which so kindly blew my modem, I am finally connected again! These are the 'little' inconveniences of living on a tiny tropical island! I hope you all had a lovely Easter and that your day was filled with delicious chocolates...

Lately I have been loving all things sparkly so I decided to make two little collar bib necklaces from some embellished chiffon and a couple of silver sequins I had lying around.  These little accessories would look really cute with a drapy blouse or even with simple white tee, I can't wait to wear one! I created a 'Sparkly Stuff' pin-board on Pinterest with lots of cute images and great ideas for DIY projects, have a look...
